Have you bought a snood yet? Snoods (also known as the infinity scarf) are the latest craze in fashion and many retailers are selling them.
You might be asking, ‘What is a snood?’ A snood is a scarf that’s a full circle and depending on the snood, you can wear it as a hood or a scarf.

Here are some links to some snoods:

Website shoutout time…

Have you been to PhotoFunia?

I recently downloaded the app on my iPhone and I’m having so much fun with it. I’ve had many friends ask me, “How did you do that?”

You choose an effect (from their wide selection), then select one of your photos and PhotoFunia adds your photo to the effect and WOW!

Want to put your face on the Mona Lisa? How about on a coin? – Yeah, you can do that and a whole lot more.

Looks like is getting some competition. It’s not the same concept but still pretty cool. is offering members great deals on a variety of items – clothing, beauty items, etc.
Like Groupon, the deals expire, but they don’t require a minimum number of members to purchase in order for the deal to be valid.

Let me know what you think =)

A hairbrush is a hairbrush. There’s no difference between any of them.

Is that what you think? Is that what you’ve heard?

Well, I’m hear to tell you that that’s not true! Some hairbrushes are better than others. Some will make your hair shinier and will help dry your hair faster. Some are better for taking out knots and some are better for giving volume to your hair.

I recently purchased a new round hairbrush at Ulta and am very happy with it. I chose an Olivia Garden round brush. It’s ceramic and ion. It has cut down the amount of time spent blowing out my hair and brings out a really nice shine to it.

Flat brushes are best for getting knots out and round (barrel) ones are best for volume. The brush features a removable hair pick too.

Do you take time for yourself? What things do you do to take care of you?

Here’s some of ideas:

  • Take care of your skin and get a facial
  • Unwind with a massage
  • Get a mani and a pedi
  • Touch of the roots – get your hair done. Fresh hair dye always does the trick!
  • Drink water – hydrate your body
  • Cuddle on the couch and watch movies
  • Eat healthy foods and take vitamins (you’ll feel so much better)
  • Ride a bike!
  • Take a bath (with bubbles of course)
  • Read an amazing book
  • Play video games (who says they’re just for kids?)
  • S T R E T C H
  • Pray
  • Find something that makes you laugh (a lot)
  • Go to bed early

This weekend, try to do a couple of things off this list and take care of you.

Do you use cosmetic brushes for applying makeup?
If your answer is No – You should be!

Using cosmetic brushes makes your makeup look more polished and you’ll be happier with the end results.
What are you using to apply foundation? A foundation brush? A sponge? Your hands?
Sponges aren’t good because you end up using more foundation than necessary due to the sponge soaking it up.
Hands aren’t good because it just makes things more messy. I’d use my hands before a sponge any day though.
Foundation brushes are perfect because it doesn’t soak up the foundation like a sponge, it keeps your hands clean, and you get to be the “artist”. It’s important to keep your brushes clean. Warm water and soap will do the trick. Make sure to let it air dry. Don’t use a blowdryer- not smart. Stores do sell special cleaners for brushes and those work well too but if you’re on a budget, no need to buy it.

When you apply eyeshadow do you use the applicator that comes with it (if it comes with one)?
I used to use those applicators and was never completely happy with the end results. My makeup never looked as good as it could.
Buying a set of cosmetic brushes was one of the smarter purchases. Since I started using proper brushes, I’ve gotten more compliments and my makeup looks so much better.

Brushes can run you a lot of money though so shop around for good prices and good quality. Feel the the brush before you buy to make sure bristles feel right and aren’t coarse. Sephora sells some great brushes. So I’d say that’s a good place to start.
